Become An Instructor

Thinking about volunteering?

RideWise is always on the lookout for experienced local riders who would like to put something back into cycling by becoming instructors.
Adult Cycling Instructors
Applicants should be safe, responsible riders who are confident in heavy traffic and have a pleasant, unflustered approach to passing on skills and information.
Preferably they should also hold a current driving license and have some experience of formal or informal teaching. Since many clients prefer same-sex instructors, we are particularly looking for women cyclists. All applicants should be over 21 years old. Training up to the national standard is approx £550, upon accreditation you will receive £300 back and instructors receive the national average payment per assessment or lesson given.

The Ridewise team is always interested to hear from experienced local riders who are keen to become instructors on our rides.

Group Ride Leaders

We provide a one day training course which will equip you with a good working knowledge of leading cycling groups.

Courses are held throughout the year at the Lenton Centre, Willoughby Street, Nottingham NG7 1RQ.

As an entry requirement, you will need to be working towards or already have National Standards Level 2 (cycle skills for off road and quiet roads).

If you are unsure of your level, sign up to cycle training by making a booking here - we can offer you free lessons to get you on your way. Places are limited, please book early to avoid disappointment.
