The Cycling For Health scheme offers Nottingham City residents a FREE cycle training package and regular easy community cycle rides from various venues around the city.
Why Cycle
Cycling is a great way to exercise and become more active, it has many benefits and can easily fit into your daily routine, you can cycle for leisure, to the shops even to work.
Free Adult Group Cycle Training
Recommended for the over 40’s
Group cycle training gives you the confidence and skill to get cycling and cycle safely either off road or on road
- We teach you in safe, quiet areas away from main roads
- Sign up for a six week course (six one hour sessions)
- Ideal for newcomers wanting to learn how to ride a bike or for people coming back to cycling wanting some refresher lessons
- Fully accredited instructor training

Free Loan Bikes, only for cycle training
- If you don’t have a bicycle, that’s not a problem as we provide loan bikes free of charge.
- A refundable deposit is required of £100 for new bike or £30 for used bike.
- Bikes are loaned out for two months at a time. Your cheque is returned once you have returned the bike.

Community Bike Rides
Have some fun, fresh air and keep fit!
The Cycling For Health Scheme provides regular weekly rides in several areas of the city Rides are nice and easy aimed at people getting back into cycling and doing a bit of exercise. They last between 45 – 60 minutes and go at a gentle pace along quiet roads, cycle paths and tracks in local communities city wide. Rides are suitable for people who have a basic level of cycling and the rides are led by Cycling Instructors or experienced Ride Leaders. Under 14’s must be accompanied by an adult.Please check that your chosen venue is running a ride if it is your first time - (0115) 9552288

Volunteer Group Ride Leaders
We are always on the lookout for people who would like to help others get more active and healthy to join us with our community bike rides.Help us set up and run local regular bikes rides in your area. For further details call the office on 0115 9552288
Bike Donations
We get your old bike repaired and give it a new lease of life so don’t take it to the skip, give it to us!
We need more donated bikes for our free loan bike service because lots of people don’t have a bike when they start cycle training
