'Individual Cycle Training - What's Involved
The Training
Most sessions are 1-2-1. Everyone starts at the beginning, usually
off road, regardless of experience. The national training standards
require us to ensure you are safe at one level before going on to
the next. It ensures everyone is trained the same way. The speed you
progress through the various levels varies according to your
existing skills, how quick you learn and, confidence. We train you
at your speed and rate comfortable to you. There is no pass or fail
it is not like a driving test. See the summary of national
standards page. The training builds confidence in your skills.
After each session the instructor discusses how you have progressed and
what you should practice. Additional sessions are then arranged with
the instructor. There is usually no more than a week between sessions
to give you time to practice the skills but dont forget what you
have learnt. Subsequent sessions progress your skills.
The training is layered so that what you learn at one level forms
the basis of the next.
You can stop at any stage without obligation and come back for extra
training whenever you wish.
The Bike
You use your own or we can lend you one of ours. Your bike needs to
be in good condition see the cycle maintenance sheet. Let us know
if you want to borrow one of our bikes.
Your Clothes

Whether you wear a helmet is up to you. We do not require you to
wear one.
Last of all enjoy it. We are involved in the training because we
enjoy it. We want you to enjoy cycling as well.
