Why Cycle?
Let’s face it……
You want to go out with the family on bike rides but lack the confidence.
It would be quicker to cycle than drive to the local shops if only you
knew how to deal with that junction. There are better things to do than
sit in traffic that again seems to be going nowhere. It would be great not
to get out of breath just climbing the stairs. Wouldn’t it be wonderful,
just for once, to keep that new year resolution of getting fitter and
slimmer. The doctor keeps saying you need to lose weight and get healthier
but the gym is so boring and running is too much like hard work.
By building cycling into everyday life, doing some of those "quick"
journeys by bike instead of car, you will find, quite soon, a big
improvement in how you feel physically and mentally.
It may be years since you were last on a bike, if indeed you have ever
ridden or, you may have lost confidence when cycling.
It involves the only exercise you can incorporate into an ordinary day
without booking an hour at a leisure centre or gym. Within five miles, it
beats a car door-to-door, and it is free, easy, practical and totally
adaptable.
But it is so long since you’ve been on a bicycle (if ever) you have lost
all confidence and have no reason but to believe the myth that cycling is
uncomfortable, hard work, unbecoming and positive dangerous.
